MADISON — “First, let me say, we did it,” said John Umhoefer, executive director of the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association.

A round of applause followed his comment as more than 100 dairy professionals and UW-Madison representatives gathered Sept. 7 to celebrate the construction launch for the university’s Babcock Hall renovation and expansion project, which includes a new three-story addition to the Center for Dairy Research.
