Join Southwest Badger Resource Conservation and Development Council and Friends of the Platte River on July 14 for their “Paddle the Platte” event. Participants will learn to identify invasive species while paddling through the beautiful bluffs and valleys of the lower Platte River in Grant County. Invasive species that are found during the paddle will be recorded to help form future invasive species management plans for this stretch of the Platte River.
The paddle event will begin at the boat landing at 5466 Big Platte Road, Potosi, and end at Banfield Bridge Recreation Area, Potosi. A grilled picnic lunch will be served following the paddle.
Canoes will be available for a nominal change; you may bring your own boats, paddles and life jackets if you have them. Please indicate in the registration if you need a canoe or will be bringing your own.
