Midwestern BioAg has been tapped by General Mills and TPG Sixth Street Partners to assist in one of the largest organic acreage transition projects in the United States.

The Madison-based company will provide technical support and on-the-ground mentorship for farm operators at Gunsmoke Farms of Pierre, S.D., as they transition 34,000 acres of conventional farmland to certified organic production. The transition should be completed by 2020.

Certified organic wheat and other rotational crops grown by Gunsmoke Farms will be sourced to General Mills to make Annie’s pasta products, including mac and cheese.
