The Sustainable Farming Association’s Upper Midwest Garlic Growers Group and the Minnesota Premium Garlic Project will host field days this summer and fall throughout Minnesota.
The first field day will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Seven Songs Organic Farm, 46544 70th Ave., Kenyon, Minn.
The second event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at Big Stone Garlic and begins at its northern location, 62247 340th St., Chokio, where the Swenson and Olson families grow hardneck garlic with all-natural methods.
Future events are scheduled for Aug. 11, Minnesota Garlic Festival, Hutchinson; Sept. 8, “Growing Great Garlic in Minnesota,” Orr; Sept. 11, “Growing Great Garlic in Minnesota,” Austin; Sept. 29, “Growing and Marketing Premium Garlic,” Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista; and Oct. 13, Garlic Planting Field Day, Morris.
